From the original log, approximately 50 per cent is converted into by-products. Nearly half of this amount is wood chips that are forwarded for the use of the pulp industry. Sawdust and bark are generally burned in heating plants. The resulting energy is then used to dry our timber. Thus, we are completely self-sufficient in terms of heat production.
A portion of the wood shavings resulting from further processing are sold as bedding for livestock and a portion is burned in the heating plants. Wood shavings are a pure, natural product, and its transport and storage is improved by packing them in bales weighing approx. 25 kilos.
